National Day of College Preparation: Saturday, November 10th, 2007
The NAACP Youth and College Division and The Princeton Review Foundation proudly present the 11th annual National Day of College Preparation, a free half-day of college preparation skills and financial aid information for high school students and parents coordinated by 10 NAACP Youth Councils and College Chapters across the country.
The National Day of College Preparation will be held from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 10th. There is no fee to attend, but ONLINE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED - just click on a city name below and complete the form.
The Princeton Review Foundation will offer a workshop on SAT score improvement strategies, and then give an SAT practice test (math and critical reading sections) to students who register and attend. Note: the SAT's essay and writing sections will NOT be included in this practice test due to time constraints.
Princeton Review test preparation books, donated by Random House, will be given to the first 70 registered students who attend at each site. In Kansas City only, the practice test, workshop and books will be ACT instead of SAT.
The NAACP will facilitate “Paying for College” workshops for parents, which will take place from about 10 AM to noon. These workshops will explain the benefits of continuing an education beyond high school and discuss the various types of financial aid resources available to help families prepare for the college admissions process. The NAACP will provide students with a light breakfast and lunch at all locations.
