Campus Tours, Information Sessions and Portfolio Prep Information
Parsons The New School for Design offers a variety of on-campus visit programs, specifically tailored to prospective, applied and admitted students. Please read the event descriptions carefully, to ensure selection of, and registration for, the event most appropriate for you. To register for one of the events listed below, simply select the day you wish to visit for a complete listing of the events offered that day. Please be aware that our programs fill up quickly, so advance planning may be required. If an event is full, you will be unable to register and must select a different date.
The following campus visit programs are offered during the 2012 summer term (May - August):
EXPLORE PARSONS:
RECOMMENDED FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT YET SUBMITTED AN APPLICATION. This thirty-minute general information session is designed for prospective students interested in receiving an introduction to Parsons, its academic programs and admission requirements. This session is not recommended for accepted students or those who have already applied. Offered Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays at 10am.
PARSONS VILLAGE CAMPUS TOUR:
RECOMMENDED FOR PROSPECTIVE, APPLIED OR ADMITTED STUDENTS. Includes a 30-minute university overview and a 60-minute village campus tour led by a current student. This program is ideal for individuals who want to visit campus and get a feel for Parsons and The New School, but who may not have many specific academic or admission questions. Offered weekdays. Not recommended for those interested in AAS programs. Offered weekdays at 10:30am & 3pm.
AAS VILLAGE CAMPUS TOUR:
RECOMMENDED FOR ASSOCIATES PROSPECTIVES & APPLICANTS ONLY. Includes a 30-minute tour, led by a current student, of the village campus where AAS students in Graphic & Interior Design study. Offered Mondays at 5pm.
GROUP TOURS or CLASS VISITS:
To schedule a special large group tour, or to inquire about the availability of visiting a Parsons class, please contact Denise Rodriguez at rodrigud@newschool.edu.
Please note that the Fashion Campus (where AAS students in Fashion Marketing & Fashion Design and undergraduate fashion students at sophomore level and above have those particular studio classes) is closed to the public during the summer term. Tours of those facilities will resume in the fall semester.
Campus visit programs are occasionally suspended on days when the University is closed and/or to support special group visits or the opening and closing of academic terms. A complete listing of University holidays can be found here.
