Scheduling a Group Information Session and Campus Tour: Step 1

Your first step to scheduling a group information session and a tour of Vanderbilt’s beautiful campus is to select the date you would like to visit from the calendar below. Typically, group information sessions are offered throughout the week at 10:00 a.m. Information sessions are also held on most Saturdays during the academic year at 10:00 a.m. Campus tours leave immediately after, and last approximately one hour.

    • Group Information Sessions will provide you the opportunity to ask questions and benefit from those of others.   An admissions counselor will describe academic programs, residential and extracurricular life, and admissions and financial aid procedures.

    • Campus Tours are led by a Vanderbilt student guide who will lead you through a residence hall, show off a few undergraduate academic facilities, and talk with you about what it is like to be a student at Vanderbilt.

NOTE: If you are interested in taking advantage of only one of these options, we ask that you indicate this in online registration process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I park?

Please note that parking for the admissions office is limited, and we encourage you to find other means of transportation to reach our campus that morning. There is a small lot next to our office available for families as well as on street meter parking and a parking garage within walking distance off 21st Avenue So.

Do I need to bring anything specific for my visit?

Wear comfortable clothes, especially shoes for the campus tour since you will be on your feet for at least one hour. Nashville summers can get very hot and humid, so please dress appropriately. We will have bottled water available at this time. If the weather is rainy, we will provide as many visitors with umbrellas as possible so you may want to bring your own.

Do I need to make special arrangements if I or anyone in my group will be in a wheelchair?

If you need special arrangements during your visit, please indicate so
specifically in the comment box in Step 3.

What will I learn on my tour?

As you meander throughout Vanderbilt’s campus (a National Arboretum) with your student guide, he or she will show you one residence hall room, the inside of several academic buildings, and the Student Life Center and dining hall. We try to keep the tour groups as small as possible so that you are able to learn as much about student life at Vanderbilt first-hand.

What will I learn in the group information session?

An admissions counselor will give a general overview about facts and figures of the university and Nashville, provide information about our four schools, and talk about applying for admission, financial aid, and scholarships. There will be time for questions.

Do I need to schedule an interview?

No. Vanderbilt does not offer interviews, though the admission staff is available to talk with you about any specific questions or concerns you may have.
